Recruitment of teenagers and fake news: a platform has been launched in Kyiv to protect against Russian propaganda.

The first monograph on the humanitarian dimension of Ukraine’s security was presented in the capital

A new discussion platform, “Ukrainian Security Dialogues,” has begun operating in Kyiv. The project aims to unite the efforts of specialists, lawmakers, and educators to counter cognitive warfare and enemy propaganda.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a broadcast from the YouTube channel “Ukrinform.”

The discussion platform was initiated by the National Academy of the SBU in collaboration with the “Ukrinform” agency.

Cognitive resilience and youth protection

Participants in the dialogues focused on issues of information hygiene and combating fakes. Special attention was given to protecting adolescents, as Russia increasingly attempts to influence Ukrainian youth through manipulation and recruitment efforts for its own operations.

According to Andriy Cherniak, rector of the National Academy of the SBU, the event is intended to be a platform for uniting efforts in the cultural, linguistic, and historical spheres.

“It is about the cognitive resilience of each citizen and society as a whole, understanding and mentality, and readiness to counter the enemy,” Cherniak emphasized, adding that the project is an example of effective partnership between the state and the private sector.

New security studies

In addition to the discussion portion, the event featured the presentation of the first publication in the series “Ukrainian Security Studies”. This was a monograph titled “The Humanitarian Dimension of Security”.

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that Russia is spreading fakes about the causes of pollution in the Dniester River, trying to shift the blame onto Ukraine. In reality, according to official data, the pollution occurred due to the consequences of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, and the circulated versions lack evidence.

Additionally, Russian resources are massively spreading fakes online about an alleged preparation for increasing tariffs on electricity and heating in Ukraine; however, this information is not true.
