British actor John Nolan has died at the age of 87. He was known for his roles in the films “Batman,” “Dunkirk,” and the series “Dune: Prophecy.”

What is known about John Nolan’s death

The tragic news became known on April 11. His wife, actress Kim Gartman, described him as a free-spirited man with a big heart.

“He was the only truly original thinker I ever knew. Expressive, intelligent, and with an anarchic sense of humor, he was always ready to consider both sides of an argument,” she said.

She also added that he was extremely kind and loved animals.

Nolan is survived by two children and grandchildren. He was also the uncle of Christopher and Jonathan Nolan.

John Nolan’s biography

The actor was born on May 22, 1938, in London. He graduated from drama school and then began his career.

In the early stages, he worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and performed at the Richmond Theatre. He later joined Royal Court productions and worked in classic theatrical roles.

His television debut was in 1967 in the series “The Prisoner.” After that, he appeared in projects such as “Doomwatch,” “Shabby Tiger,” “Crown Court,” and other British television shows.

Nolan worked in films directed by his nephew Christopher, including “Following,” “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” and “Dunkirk.” He also played a role in the series “Dune: Prophecy.”

Additionally, he gained fame for his role in the series “Dangerous,” where he played former MI6 agent John Greer.
