The Russian artist cynically stole the song DREVO: the team of the Ukrainian singer has already responded.

Ukrainian artist DREVO has fallen victim to alleged plagiarism by Russian performer R. Riccardo. His team claims that the song “Potantsuy so mnoy” by the Russian artist is entirely stolen from the track “Yenkarapista.”

RBC-Ukraine reports more on this, citing a statement from the artist’s team.

Russians have stolen from DREVO

DREVO’s management notes that the new release by the Russian singer allegedly uses the Ukrainian composition from the first to the last note.

That is why the artist’s team has already begun to respond to the situation.

DREVO’s producer Mikhail Shiyan and the label Sound United have filed a complaint with distributors.

According to them, the disputed track should be removed from all platforms soon.

The artist’s team also pointed out that, in their opinion, Russia’s legal isolation creates a sense of impunity regarding intellectual property issues.

At the same time, they assured that they do not intend to leave this matter without intervention.

The situation was commented on by Mikhail Shiyan, the founder of the Sound United label and the artist’s producer.

“The Russians have dug a legal moat around their territory, through which they can spit in the face of the civilized world without consequence. But we will not let them get away with this,” the producer commented on the situation.

“At every DREVO concert, we raise significant funds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine to destroy the enemy on the battlefield. And here we will also deal with these thieves. Plagiarism knows no borders and must be punished. Such ‘dances’ should end with a fall into the orchestral pit,” he added.

What is known about DREVO

DREVO hails from the city of Varash in the Rivne region. His interest in music began in his youth: at 17, he started playing the guitar and creating his own compositions.

The artist first gained attention after his attempt to enter the national selection for “Eurovision” in 2023.

At that time, Maksym did not make it to the shortlist, but it was then that producer Dmytro Shurov took notice of him.

Just a year later, the performer reached the finals of the National Selection with the song “Endless chain,” where he placed ninth.

The artist rarely shares details about his personal life. However, he previously mentioned that he has known his beloved for many years, as they both come from the same city.
