“Expensive.” Matviyenko admitted how she resolved the conflict with Ryabchinsky.

The artist shared whether she was able to obtain the rights to perform her mother’s songs

Last year, producer and composer Yevgeny Rybcynsky accused Tonya Matvienko of violating copyright on her mother’s songs. Now the artist has revealed how the conflict ended.

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, she spoke about this in an interview with Alina Dorotyuk.

What Matvienko said about the conflict with Rybcynsky

According to the singer, she managed to reach an agreement with the composers’ family. She personally called them, asked what amount they wanted, and paid it.

“I paid what they wanted – as it should be by law,” – she commented.

Tonya did not disclose the exact amount because she signed a contract that prohibits it.

She also shared whether she felt resentment towards Yevgeny, who brought the situation into the public eye.

“Yes, it was very unpleasant. But they were right. They were also upset with me,” – she said.

The artist loves to sing her mother’s songs. However, she cannot perform all of them.

“I don’t have enough money to sing them all,” – she admitted with a laugh.

According to the artist, she currently has certain limitations in her repertoire.

“You can (buy – ed.), but it’s expensive,” – she added.

All of her mother’s compositions hold special significance for Tonya, so she cannot single out just one favorite. If she wants to sing another song, she will acquire the rights.

“They are all incredible. All the ones that mom performed. Very beautiful. They are very dear to me and to people. But I don’t have the rights to all of them. If at some point I want to, I will pay. You can do it once, thank God,” – she shared.

What Rybcynsky said about Matvienko

Recall that in September 2025, Yevgeny stated that she was performing her mother’s songs without the official permission of the authors. At that time, he called her “a performer who sings pirated songs” and warned of the consequences.

The songs in question were created by his father Yuri for Nina Matvienko, as well as the composition “Oy, letili dyki husy” by the late Igor Poklad, the rights to which belong to his wife Svetlana.

Later, Tonya’s husband commented on the scandal, calling it a “freaky situation” and “chatter on social media.” According to him, his wife was very upset.

In the end, the conflict was resolved. Yuri said they agreed on a middle price.
