The former head of the Office of the President recently took charge of the committee of the National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine (NALU) for the protection of those affected by the war.
Former President’s Office head Andriy Yermak, who recently resumed his legal practice, visited the combat zone with other lawyers. He and his colleagues provided consultations to military personnel.

“This week, the first trips of lawyers directly to units in the combat zone took place as part of the implementation of the NALU Committee’s decision on the protection of those affected by armed aggression regarding the launch of the Lawyer+ project,” the association reported.
In addition to Yermak, committee members Ihor Andriyev, Polina Marchenko, Vadym Hatezh, and advisor to the NALU chairman Artemiy Karpenko also visited the front. They held meetings with military personnel and provided consultations.
It is noted that the Lawyer+ project provides legal support to servicemen at the brigade level, combining digital tools with offline work by lawyers directly in the units.
The lawyers communicated with military personnel from the 157th OMBr, 79th Air Assault Brigade, and the 3rd Operational Brigade of the National Guard’s Spartan unit.
What preceded this
Recently, former Office of the President head Andriy Yermak, who resigned at the end of 2025 following NABU searches, regained his right to practice law. Shortly before that, in an interview with foreign journalists, he stated that he would go to the front.
As is known, Yermak is mentioned in the so-called “Mindycha tapes” and is suspected of involvement in a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector. When the case gained public attention, the aliases of those involved in the scheme began to emerge.
Initially, it was reported that the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine appeared on the tapes under the alias “Ali Baba,” but recently a detective in the case revealed another alias for Yermak – “Surgeon.”
Andriy Yermak resigned from his position as head of the Office of the President on November 28, 2025.
