As Jamala explained, problems arose during passport control.
The reason was a Russian arrest warrant, which the aggressor country issued in absentia due to her clear pro-Ukrainian stance and public statements about the crimes of the occupiers in Crimea.
The artist did not specify in which country this occurred, but mentioned that she was effectively denied entry and informed about her deportation.
For a day, the performer was held and underwent standard procedures – she was photographed and had her fingerprints taken.

“It was very scary. Luckily, I was alone, without children,” the celebrity admitted.
According to the singer, the situation was resolved only after the Ukrainian embassy intervened, with which she was able to get in touch.
After this incident, the artist has become significantly more cautious about planning foreign trips and now checks in advance how loyal a particular country may be towards Russia.
