Trump made a statement about the possible transfer of weapons for Ukraine to the Middle East.

The U.S. is now only selling weapons for Kyiv

U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement about the possibility of redirecting weapons intended for Ukraine to the Middle East. According to him, Washington “does this all the time.”

As reported by RBK-Ukraine, Trump made these comments during a meeting of his cabinet.

The U.S. President was asked whether reports from the media were true that some American weapons intended for Ukraine would be sent to Iran.

“We do this all the time. You know, we have a huge amount of ammunition. We have it in other countries, for example, in Germany and across Europe. We are, you know, completely filled up, and sometimes we take from one place and use it for another,” he said.

Trump added that the U.S. has been helping Ukraine and once again noted that former American President Joe Biden “gave” Kyiv $350 billion.

“Now we are selling this to NATO. We are selling this to NATO, and they apparently mostly give it to Ukraine. I think they give it to Ukraine. But we are paid for everything we give away. We no longer give anything away for free,” he emphasized.

The American president also noted that the situation in Ukraine is “very complicated” and added that the U.S. is “working very hard” to resolve it.

Rumors about weapons for Ukraine

Recall that The Washington Post, citing sources, reported that the Pentagon is considering redirecting weapons intended for Ukraine to the Middle East. In particular, this concerns interceptor missiles for air defense systems that were purchased under the PURL program.

Later, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that Kyiv continues to receive American weapons, including interceptor missiles, which European partners are purchasing under the PURL program.
