According to Fedorov, he held talks with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius.
“We agreed on a package of defense agreements totaling 4 billion euros – to strengthen air defense, develop long-range capabilities, and joint production of drones,” noted the Ukrainian minister.
He stated that three important deals were signed:
Strengthening Air Defense
Germany has committed to finance a contract for several hundred missiles for the Patriot systems. The Germans will also provide Ukrainian defenders with 36 IRIS-T launchers, which will enhance the multi-layered air defense system.
Development of Long-Range Weapons
Ukraine and Germany have agreed on 300 million euros in investments for long-range capabilities. This will help increase the production of Ukrainian weapons.
Joint Production of Drones
According to the agreements, the two countries will launch joint production of mid-strike drones using artificial intelligence under the Build with Ukraine initiative. In the first phase, 5,000 drones will be produced for Ukrainian defenders.
Cooperation between Ukraine and Germany
It is worth noting that recently the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced a number of joint defense projects with Germany.
The ministry also mentioned that the two countries are discussing prospects for cooperation in creating innovative laser weaponry.
