The organizers of the grand boxing evening Glory in Giza have unveiled the list of all the fights for the show: fans can look forward to three championship battles.
The large-scale event in Giza, headlined by the clash between Ukrainian heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk and “kickboxing king” Rico Verhoeven from the Netherlands for the WBC title, features a star-studded lineup. The evening’s program includes title defenses for the WBO and WBA versions, as well as bouts featuring young Olympic stars.

Main Fights of the Evening
The central event of the undercard will be the fight for the vacant WBO world championship title in the super middleweight division. Undefeated British prospect Hamza Shiraz will face experienced Alem Begic from Germany. For Shiraz, this bout is a crucial step towards a meeting with the division’s leaders.
Equally intriguing will be the showdown for the WBA Regular world championship title in the welterweight division. Jack Catterall from the UK will enter the ring against Olympic medalist Shahram Giyasov from Uzbekistan. Both boxers are among the elite in their weight category, so the winner will earn a chance for an unification fight.
Heavyweight and Women’s Boxing
In the heavyweight division, powerful Cuban Frank Sanchez will clash with promising American Richard Torrez Jr. in an IBF title eliminator. Torrez, who is a silver medalist from the Tokyo Olympics, will face an opponent of such high caliber for the first time.
A significant women’s bout is also scheduled for the WBO and The Ring magazine championship titles. Japanese star Mizuki Hiruta will defend her titles in a match against Australian Egyptian Maya Soliman, who will have a fervent home crowd behind her.

The boxing evening will take place on May 25 in Giza with the support of the WBC and Oleksandr Usyk’s platform Ready to Fight. The broadcast will be exclusively on the streaming service DAZN.
Previously, Usyk ranked those who hit him the hardest.
