And it has the necessary experience to ensure security.<\/p>\n “Ukraine has some of the best technologies in the world, which it has developed here during the war. I think this could be useful in the Middle East, as we are already seeing in the fight against Shahed drones, all the way to the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.<\/p>\n Carnes added that his visit is proof that the war in Ukraine remains a key priority for the UK in terms of defense and security. According to him, the UK can learn a lot from Ukraine – for example, in areas such as drone technology, data utilization, and artificial intelligence in weaponry.<\/p>\n “This is a revolution in military affairs, and we need to move faster,” he added.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Opening of the Strait of Hormuz: What We Know<\/p>\n Recall that on the night of April 8, US President Donald Trump agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran in exchange for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. During this time, the parties are supposed to reach a final agreement.<\/p>\n According to media reports, Iran opened the strait but soon closed it again as Israel carried out airstrikes in Lebanon. Interestingly, media sources indicate that Iran is not opening the strait because the country cannot detect its own mines and also lacks the capability to neutralize them.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, on April 11, Trump stated that the United States is starting the process of demining the Strait of Hormuz. Allegedly, US Navy ships have already passed through the strait. Iran denied this, claiming that no US ships have been seen in the strait.<\/p>\n Against this backdrop, on April 11, Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that negotiations with dozens of countries on how to unblock the Strait of Hormuz will take place in Britain next week.
