5G has been launched at the main railway station in Lviv – how mobile internet works <\/p>\n
The open testing of the 5G network has been launched at the Main Railway Station in Lviv. The new communication standard is already available for passengers in one of the busiest locations.<\/p>\n
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from Vodafone Ukraine.<\/p>\n

At times when several trains arrive simultaneously, hundreds of people start actively using their smartphones – calling taxis, checking routes, sending files, or making phone calls.<\/p>\n In such conditions, networks of previous generations can become overloaded<\/strong>. However, 5G is capable of handling a large number of connections<\/strong> and providing stable communication even under high load.<\/p>\n What speed and how to connect<\/p>\n According to the operator, the maximum internet speed under load reached 1.9 Gbps<\/strong>. No additional services need to be activated<\/strong>:<\/p>\n Where 5G is already operational<\/p>\n Recall that the launch of 5G in Ukraine was announced at the end of December 2025. Open testing of 5G started in Lviv on January 12. Subsequently, the coverage was also expanded to Borodyanka and Kharkiv. During this time, more than 307,000 unique users have already connected to 5G in Ukraine.<\/p>\n After successful testing of 5G in several cities, where the technology has already been experienced by more than half a million people, the next city for launch will be Kyiv.
