How many stores will open in Ukraine? <\/p>\n
The Polish discount retailer Pepco plans to enter the Ukrainian market this year. Despite the war, the chain is preparing to open its first stores selling clothing and household goods at affordable prices.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It sells clothing for the whole family, household goods, and toys\u2014all at low prices.<\/p>\n The chain currently operates in 18 countries and has over 4,000 stores. It is visited by more than 41 million customers each month.<\/p>\n Opening date in Ukraine<\/p>\n By the end of 2026, Pepco plans to open between 5 and 10 stores in Ukraine.<\/p>\n The technical department of the chain is already negotiating with contractors for the arrangement of specific premises. The locations are not yet disclosed.<\/p>\n The area of one store ranges from 350 to 700 square meters. Pepco typically places its outlets in small and medium-sized cities so that customers can shop close to home.<\/p>\n There has been no official comment from Pepco itself yet\u2014RAU is awaiting a detailed response regarding plans in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Meanwhile, as RBC-Ukraine reported, this year the sports brand Reebok is exiting the Ukrainian market\u2014the last two stores in Kyiv will close in spring 2026.<\/p>\n The key reason is the unprofitability of the business: the Turkish operator FLO Retailing, which managed the chain, has reported losses for several consecutive years.<\/p>\n Recall that a Deloitte Ukraine study estimated that in 2025, Ukrainians spent only 5% of their monthly budget on clothing and footwear\u2014half of what they would like.<\/p>\n More than 80% of all expenses went to basic needs: food, utilities, and healthcare.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Source: rbc.ua<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" How many stores will open in Ukraine?
