President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the trip of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance to Hungary ahead of the parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In an interview with the British publication, Zelensky called the U.S. Vice President’s trip to Budapest to campaign for the political force of current Prime Minister Viktor Orban “useless.”<\/p>\n

At the same time, the President of Ukraine emphasized that he does not intend to interfere in the Hungarian elections, which will take place on Sunday, April 12. According to him, the Hungarian people should decide for themselves which political party to support.<\/p>\n

What preceded it<\/p>\n

Recall that J.D. Vance’s visit to Budapest took place ahead of the parliamentary elections in Hungary on April 12. According to media reports, the Trump administration wants to support Viktor Orban, who, according to poll results, may lose to the opposition.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that during his visit to Hungary, Vance stated that the greatest contribution to efforts to end the full-scale war in Ukraine was allegedly made by Donald Trump and Viktor Orban.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

As RBC-Ukraine reported, during his visit to Budapest, Vance accused the Ukrainian intelligence of attempting to influence the election results in Hungary. He also supported Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban ahead of the parliamentary elections and equated him to Trump, calling both “peacemakers.”<\/p>\n

Subsequently, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded to the statements of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance regarding alleged Ukrainian interference in the elections in Hungary and the U.S. In particular, the ministry described them as merely part of the election campaign.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
