A fire broke out in the Pechersk district of Kyiv, likely igniting in a utility building on the grounds of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.<\/p>\n

A one-story inactive building was on fire.<\/p>\n The fire was extinguished by 1:43 PM. The flames covered an area of 150 square meters.<\/p>\n According to rescuers, no one was injured as a result of the fire.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Earlier, social media reported that a building on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was on fire.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n What caused it<\/p>\n The cause of the fire will be investigated by law enforcement. The circumstances of the fire are currently being clarified.<\/p>\n Recall that on the night of January 24, 2026, during a massive shelling, objects of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which are on the UNESCO list, were damaged. In particular, buildings near the Far Caves and a church were damaged, windows and doors were shattered, but the caves themselves survived. Specialists are already conducting inspections and preparing for restoration.<\/p>\n In early February of this year, the reserve suspended the reception of guests due to severe frosts to ensure people’s safety and preserve historical monuments.
