It is the main oil export port of the Russian Federation on the Black Sea. Given that the main oil export port in the Baltic, Ust-Luga, is also not operational, the shutdown of “Sheskharis” will increase the burden on Russia.<\/p>\n “Sources reported that Russia will be forced to cut production as stocks accumulate and storage facilities fill up… Two sources familiar with the situation could not disclose names due to the sensitivity of the issue. They stated that the port has not yet assessed the extent of the damage,” the report said.<\/p>\n Thus, the publication adds, Russia is unable to take advantage of the situation where demand for oil has increased due to U.S. military actions against Iran and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Not a drop of oil for export<\/p>\n Recall that on the night of April 5, drones attacked Novorossiysk – videos emerged online showing a fire at the “Sheskharis” terminal and reports of explosions. It was also reported that a “Transneft” facility, servicing the largest oil tankers, caught fire.<\/p>\n On April 7, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that after the strike on the “Sheskharis” oil terminal in Krasnodar Krai, several infrastructure elements crucial for the transshipment and shipment of oil were damaged.<\/p>\n The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also confirmed that Ukrainian defenders struck the oil terminal in the port of Ust-Luga again on the night of April 7, which is located on the shore of the Baltic Sea.<\/p>\n Prior to this, OSINT analysts reported on the attack on the port of Ust-Luga on the night of April 7.
