Export of Flour to China: A New Opportunity for the Ukrainian Agricultural Sector <\/p>\n
China has opened its market for the import of Ukrainian wheat flour. Negotiations on this issue lasted at least three years.<\/p>\n
This was stated by the head of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Serhiy Tkachuk, as reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing his message on Facebook.<\/p>\n
“Today, I signed an international agreement with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Ukraine, Mr. Ma Shengkui, which officially opens the export of Ukrainian wheat flour to the PRC,” Tkachuk wrote.<\/p>\n
The approved agreement includes a protocol on inspection, phytosanitary, and sanitary requirements for wheat flour. The protocol will be monitored by the Ukrainian food safety and consumer protection service, while the General Administration of Customs of China will oversee it from the Chinese side.<\/p>\n
It is also known that the approved document establishes clear and transparent requirements for all stages of production and export\u2014from wheat cultivation to the delivery of finished products to the Chinese market.<\/p>\n
Negotiations on the start of flour exports to China have been ongoing since at least 2023.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
As is known, Ukraine supplies grain crops to many countries around the world. Moreover, a few years ago, Ukraine ranked second in the global grain export rating, surpassed only by the United States.<\/p>\n
Grain exports from Ukraine increased as early as 2018.<\/p>\n
