Kyiv is ready to respond in kind to Moscow’s actions <\/p>\n
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kyiv has sent Moscow a proposal for an energy truce.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

And such a proposal exists through the Americans to the Russian side,” the president emphasized.<\/p>\n He added that the aggressor country will not want to transition to peace if it can finance the war<\/strong>. Therefore, Zelensky stressed, it is important to continue applying pressure on the Kremlin.<\/p>\n “We in Ukraine are constantly doing our part of this work, and our long-range sanctions continue to work very effectively and genuinely reduce Russian revenues<\/strong>, primarily oil revenues. This is absolutely fair, and most importantly – it limits Russia’s ability to prolong this war,” the president’s statement read.<\/p>\n He emphasized that only significant financial losses would force Russia to consider a scenario for exiting the war. Zelensky noted that the oil market is currently in a crisis due to the situation surrounding Iran.<\/p>\n “Oil-producing countries now – and Russia is among them – can earn more. And our drones, our missiles limit Russia in this,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n Easter truce<\/p>\n Recall that on March 30, the Ukrainian president responded to the question of whether Ukraine would offer the aggressor country an Easter truce and what international guarantees would be needed to ensure that the Russian Federation “does not use the pause to strengthen its military positions.”<\/p>\n “We have supported any formats for ending the war, as you know, but when you do not lose the dignity and independence of our state, and a ceasefire, any formats, as we have already discussed today, both complete and energy-related, we are ready for a ceasefire during the Easter holidays,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n The head of state added that “normal people who respect life” talk about a ceasefire and an end to the war forever<\/strong>, not just for a few days.<\/p>\n In response, the press secretary of the Russian dictator Dmitry Peskov stated that “there was no clear initiative regarding the Easter truce” from the Ukrainian president.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n It is worth noting that the Institute for the Study of War pointed out that Ukraine continues to offer concessions and demonstrate readiness for negotiations with the Russian Federation.
