The Ukrainian company Fire Point, the manufacturer of the cruise missile “Flamingo,” is in the final stages of developing two supersonic ballistic missiles – FP-7 and FP-9.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Also read: <\/strong>Alternative to Patriot: the manufacturer of “Flamingo” announced the development of a new air defense system<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Co-founder and chief designer of Fire Point Denis Shtilerman stated that the smaller missile FP-7 will have a range of about 300 km and could be used for military purposes “in the near future.” He described it as analogous to the American short-range ballistic system ATACMS.<\/p>\n At the same time, the larger missile FP-9, capable of carrying an 800-kilogram warhead over a distance of up to 850 km, is expected to enter the testing phase soon. Shtilerman added that the emergence of such a missile could potentially include Moscow within the striking range of the Ukrainian ballistic arsenal.<\/p>\n According to him, strikes on Moscow, which is protected by one of the most powerful air defense systems in the world, could trigger “a massive shift in the consciousness of Russians and the Russian leadership.”<\/p>\n Meanwhile, senior researcher at the Norwegian Defense University Fabian Hofmann noted that despite Russia’s experience in intercepting ATACMS missiles, a broader use of ballistic missiles could overwhelm its air defense system, which has already suffered losses due to Ukrainian strikes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Recall that earlier Shtilerman stated that the Ukrainian ballistic missiles FP-7 and FP-9 are intended to be analogs of the American ATACMS but will cost at least twice as less.<\/p>\n He mentioned that FP-7 has already undergone testing, while FP-9, with a range of up to 800 km, is being prepared for tests.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" One of the new missiles could put Moscow within range of attack.
