According to the KGGA, the main flag of Ukraine was temporarily lowered on Monday, April 6, due to forecasted bad weather.<\/p>\n
This concerns expected gusts of wind<\/strong>, which in the capital today may reach speeds of 15-20 m\/s.<\/p>\n This is classified as the first level of danger – yellow.<\/p>\n Based on information from the KP “Kyivzelenstroy,” the decision to lower the flag was made to protect the fabric<\/strong> from damage.<\/p>\n “The flag will remain lowered until the weather improves,” the KGGA reported.<\/p>\n Where and when the main flag of Ukraine was installed<\/p>\n The largest state flag of Ukraine was installed in Kyiv in August 2020, just before the State Flag Day, which is celebrated annually on August 23.<\/p>\n The state symbol was placed on the territory of the Memorial Complex “National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II.”<\/p>\n The flagpole is nearly 90 meters tall and weighs 32 tons.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the size of the flag is 16 by 24 meters.<\/p>\n The main flag of Ukraine, installed on the Kyiv hills, is periodically lowered:<\/p>\n What weather is forecasted in Kyiv and the region<\/p>\n According to forecasts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the weather in Kyiv and the Kyiv region today is cloudy with clearings.<\/p>\n Rain is likely.<\/p>\n The wind is generally southwest, shifting to northwest, at a speed of 7-12 m\/s.
