Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the protracted war between the U.S. and Israel against Iran could further weaken American support for Kiev.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

He emphasized that there is still no effective alternative to these systems for intercepting ballistic missiles.<\/p>\n Zelensky acknowledged that against the backdrop of the new war in the Middle East, Ukraine is no longer at the center of international attention. This is why, he said, Kiev fears that the prolonged conflict surrounding Iran will lead to further reductions in support from the U.S.<\/p>\n “We must acknowledge that today we are not a priority,” the Ukrainian leader emphasized. “That is why I fear that a prolonged war (in Iran – ed.) will lead to a decrease in support for us.”<\/p>\n The president also pointed out that Ukraine was initially provided with insufficient Patriot systems and missiles. If the hostilities against Iran do not conclude quickly, even the current aid package, which he described as not very large, may become increasingly smaller.<\/p>\n “That is why, of course, we are afraid,” Zelensky concluded.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Recall that earlier, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Gegset stated that the current issues with the country’s military supplies, particularly related to the transfer of weapons to Ukraine, are a consequence of decisions made by the previous administration.<\/p>\n According to him, Washington is already reassessing its approaches to the use of defense resources and emphasizing the need to replenish stocks as quickly as possible amid simultaneous support for Ukraine and the military campaign against Iran.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kiev is most concerned about a potential reduction in supplies of critically important Patriot missiles.
