Two of the worst teams in the Ukrainian Premier League – “Poltava” and “Alexandria” – unexpectedly delivered a highly entertaining match with a stunning storyline.<\/p>\n

The debut match of the revamped team against “Poltava” started like a fairy tale for the guests.<\/p>\n Already in the 7th minute, “Alexandria” took the lead: Castillo successfully finished off a cross from Tsary after a corner kick. The guests continued to press, and by the middle of the first half, the score became overwhelming. Amaral first converted a counterattack, and a few minutes later completed a brace with an incredible shot that went “over the shoulder” of the goalkeeper – 0:3.<\/p>\n An incredible comeback by “Poltava”<\/p>\n Despite the catastrophic start, the home team did not give up. The turning point was Doroshenko’s goal at the end of the first half, which brought intrigue back to the match. After the break, “Poltava” completely seized the initiative, taking advantage of the disarray in the Alexandrians’ defense.<\/p>\n Former “Alexandria” player Kobzar, just after coming on as a substitute, fired at the goal of his former team following a set-piece. The final parity was established by Plakhtyr: his powerful shot from outside the penalty area left goalkeeper Dolhyi with no chance.<\/p>\n In stoppage time, “Alexandria” had a fantastic opportunity to snatch all three points, but Tsary lacked precision at the crucial moment. In the end, it was a hard-fought draw of 3:3, leaving both teams in the relegation zone.<\/p>\n Tournament standings<\/p>\n After 22 rounds, “Alexandria” and “Poltava” remain at the bottom of the UPL table.
