EU’s Foreign Policy Chief Announces New Tranche for Ukraine <\/p>\n
The European Union is providing Ukraine with a new tranche of 80 million euros. This comes from the revenues of frozen Russian assets.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
As reported by RBC-Ukraine, this was announced by the EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, at a press conference with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.<\/p>\n

In particular, sanctions need to be strengthened, not weakened. Brussels has already prepared the 20th sanctions package, which will further tighten the net around Russia’s shadow fleet.<\/p>\n “Today, I am pleased to announce that we are providing Ukraine with an additional 80 million euros, derived from the revenues of frozen Russian assets,” emphasized the EU’s foreign policy chief.<\/p>\n Borrell also noted that today’s discussions included Ukraine’s energy needs. The EU continues to mobilize international support for the supply of generators and repair equipment to better protect Ukraine next winter.<\/p>\n Financial Aid to Ukraine from the EU<\/p>\n It is worth noting that over the four years of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the European Union has not decided to confiscate all frozen assets in favor of Ukraine.<\/p>\n Instead, Brussels has opted to provide Ukrainians with the revenues from frozen Russian assets.<\/p>\n Recently, EU countries considered the possibility of providing Ukraine with a “reparations loan,” which would be secured by Russian assets.
