The USA proposed to hold the meeting on its territory – Ukraine agreed. Russia refused and suggested Turkey or Switzerland. At that point, the American delegation announced that it would not be leaving the country for now.<\/p>\n “We are ready to support a meeting in the USA, we are ready to support a meeting in Switzerland, in Turkey, and wherever our partners are willing. The ball is now in the court of the United States and Russia,” the president stated.<\/p>\n Zelensky added that Ukraine is ready for a meeting in any format and any location, except for Russia and Belarus.<\/p>\n Why is the meeting being postponed<\/p>\n According to Zelensky, one of the reasons is that Washington’s attention is focused elsewhere.<\/p>\n “It is being postponed undoubtedly because the focus of the United States is currently on Iran,” he explained.<\/p>\n At the same time, the president thanked Europe and several American representatives who continue to raise the issue of the war.<\/p>\n “Let Russia surrender, we will not”<\/p>\n “I do not believe that we are at an impasse. An impasse after which we all have to surrender, relax? Let Russia surrender, we will not,” the head of state declared.<\/p>\n According to him, Ukraine must continue the diplomatic track while simultaneously strengthening its positions on the battlefield – because it is this that determines the weight in negotiations.<\/p>\n Zelensky also assessed the state of the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n “Today we are much stronger, honestly, than in the last six months,” he said, thanking the military.<\/p>\n The president expressed hope that the trilateral meeting would take place “in the coming weeks.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Recall that Russia is ready to sign a draft memorandum on peace if Ukraine agrees to withdraw its troops from the entire territory of the Donetsk region.<\/p>\n If agreed, a meeting is planned between US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodyr Zelensky, and Russian President Vladimir Putin to withdraw the armies.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, for Ukraine, in addition to territorial issues, security guarantees are important.
