However, one must not forget about the requirements for bicycle equipment and the specifics of maneuvering on city roads for both children and adults.<\/p>\n<p>This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a publication from the press service of the Patrol Police of Kyiv on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also read<\/strong>: This Kills: Police Named the Main Causes of Traffic Accidents with Injuries and Their Number Over the Year<br \/>\nWhere Cyclists Should Ride<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Do you love riding a bicycle? Here are some useful tips to ensure your trips are safe,&#8221; the law enforcement officers wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainians were reminded that <strong>when available, one must always move<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>either on bike paths;<\/li>\n<li>or on bike lanes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If such paths are not nearby, cyclists may move:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>on the far right lane of the roadway;<\/li>\n<li>only in a single file.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is emphasized that <strong>only individuals aged 14 and older may ride a bicycle on the roadway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>What Must Be on a Bicycle<\/p>\n<p>The Patrol Police stated that while riding, a bicycle must have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>functional brakes;<\/li>\n<li>a horn;<\/li>\n<li>reflective elements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is also important to remember the <strong>color of these elements<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>they must be white in front;<\/li>\n<li>orange on the sides;<\/li>\n<li>red at the back.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, the bicycle must be equipped with a <strong>working light (headlight)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>at night;<\/li>\n<li>in conditions of poor visibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"841\" src=\"\/static\/ckef2\/img\/image_20847.png\" width=\"840\" \/>All road users must adhere to traffic rules (infographic: facebook.com\/kyivpatrol)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How to Cross the Road Correctly<\/p>\n<p>If a bike path crosses a road outside of an intersection, cyclists are required to yield to other vehicles &#8211; those moving on the road.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, <strong>cyclists must cross the roadway<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>if available &#8211; at a bike crossing;<\/li>\n<li>if not available &#8211; in accordance with traffic rules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;In places where traffic is regulated, cyclists must follow the signals of the traffic controller or traffic light,&#8221; the law enforcement officers added.<\/p>\n<p>What Can Be Transported While Riding a Bicycle<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainians were informed that, in general (according to the rules), while riding a bicycle, one can only transport loads that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>do not interfere with control;<\/li>\n<li>do not create obstacles for other road users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Be responsible and safe travels,&#8221; the police press service concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that we previously discussed whether cyclists can ignore traffic lights.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, we explained what fines cyclists face for not having lights and reflectors in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Also read about how to obtain a motorcycle license in 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How to move correctly when there is no bike lane is something everyone should know.
